3D Printing Process
Our products are made on demand using a manufacturing process called FDM 3D Printing (Fused deposition modeling).
This allows us to print your orders on demand, with minimal lead time in processing.
3D Printing Materials
What are the 3DChicken range of 3D printed goods made from? Most of our range is now printed in ASA!
ASA
ASA, also known as Acrylic Styrene Acrylonitrile, is a 3D printable plastic with properties similar to ABS. It was originally developed as an alternative to ABS that would be more UV resistant by changing the type of rubber that’s used in the formulation. ASA is known for high impact resistance, higher temperature resistance, and increased printing difficulty. It’s commonly used in outdoor applications instead of ABS due to its superior resistance to UV and harsh weather conditions.
PLA
Polylactic acid, also known as PLA, is a thermoplastic monomer derived from renewable, organic sources such as corn starch or sugar cane. Using biomass resources makes PLA production different from most plastics, which are produced using fossil fuels through the distillation and polymerization of petroleum.ic sources such as corn starch. Although this material is strong, prolongued exposure to heat/sun may cause some deformation.
Processing Time
Every single product is made on demand, in the UK. This is why we estimate it takes 1-7 days to process UK orders. (Most orders are processed within 1-2 days)
Quality Control
We only sell and ship products that meet our high standards. If we aren't 100% happy with the quality, why would we expect you to be!
Because of this, you can find some discounted items in the store that weren't quite good enough to be sent to customers!
That being said, due to the nature of 3D printing, all products are subject to unique textures, visible layer lines & minor defects.
Returns
3D Printed items are made on demand, specific to customer requirements. We do not accept returns.
